The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore was founded at the beginning of the last century. The university is represented in the RISKCYCLE consortium through the research group of the Chemistry Institute Istituto di Chimica Agraria ed Ambientale) which is located in the university campus in Piacenza. The institute's activity is mainly focusing on environmental research such as pollutant research programs (trace element, heavy metal, pesticide, organic pollutant, and radionuclide) on field and laboratory evaluation of dissipation in soil, water and crops.

UCSC will contribute to the development of the database of key exposure parameters planned in WP3 and the risk assessment planned in WP5. It will use for this purpose its long experience and the internal databases related to the transfer of various contaminants. UCSC will use its experience and facilities to collaborate in the committee of the training and dissemination activities planned in the project.
