Teaching Mission in the Philippines

The 2ndteaching mission of the ISTEAC project took place from April 12-20, 2005 in the Philippines and had been organized at Miriam College in the form of a seminar-workshop, titled "Ecological Solid Waste Management: Scientific Implementation, Skills Training and Innovative Strategies". The invited participants who attended the seminar were coming from allover the Philippines (as far as Bataan in the north and General Santos located at Mindanao Island in the very south of the country; or about 1.500 km distance) and represented governmental agencies, local governmental units, non governmental organizations or private organizations, private corporations, academic institutions, school staff and students.

The seminar lasted for 6 days and included a number of field excursions meant for discussing the actual waste management situation and problems in the country and ways for their resolution between workshop participants, experts and teaching staff from the ISTEAC member organizations and local stakeholders.
